Glock was the Jordan test driver in 2004 and replaced Giorgio Pantano for four races, scoring points in his first race. In 2005 Glock raced in the Champ Car World Series in the US, finishing the season in 8th.
For the 2006 and 2007 seasons Glock raced in the GP2 Series, (the level immediately below Formula 1), finishing fourth in 2006 and as Champion in 2007.
Winning the GP2Series is a considerable achievement for a young driver, and unsurprisingly Glock returned to F1 in 2008. Racing for Toyota, Glock finished forth in the Canadian GP, and then a season's best second in the Hungarian GP. Further points finishes resulted in a tenth place in the championship, one place behind his team mate Jarno Trulli.
Results in the 2009 season illustrated the Glock has talent to overtake traffic, but he also, at times, lacks the composure to hold on to good positions, his best results of the season a second (Singapore) third (Malaysia) and forth place (Australia).
Glock's season was cut short following his crash at the qualifying for the Japanese GP. He crashed heavily at the last corner and was airlifted to hospital with a leg injury and cracked vertebra. His drive was taken by test driver Kamui Kobayashi for the final two races of the season.
Glock finished the season in tenth position, two places behind Trulli who had competed in three more races during the season.
Toyota pulled out of F1 at the end of 2009, and Glock needed to secure a drive for 2010.
Glock seemed to have potential, and such was completely wasted driving for Virgin in 2010. The car was terrible. The car had to be modified because it was designed with a fuel tank too small to allow the car to carry enough fuel to complete a race. Even when such was replaced the car was staggeringly slow. The team was the worst constructor in 2010. Glock's best finish was 14th in Japan, but normally the car either retired, (8 times) or finished eighteenth nineteenth or twentieth, (Seven times).
Glock's talents are completely wasted unless the team can dramatically improve in 2011.
